Circular RNA:a novel biomarker of cardiovascular disease

  • 经典的基因表达理论认为,所有RNA分子都是线性结构,测序方法只能分离具有特征性分子尾巴的那些分子。环状RNA的末端连接在一起,缺乏这些尾巴,因此被普遍忽略掉了。所以环状RNA一直飞行于雷达之下,鲜被发觉。最新研究证明,环状RNA不仅存在,而且广泛存在于人体细胞内外,包括血液、唾液及心脏,提示环状RNA或可作为心血管疾病的新型治疗靶点和生物标记物。
