Advances in risk assessment of complications of chronic total occlusion percutaneous coronary intervention

Abstract: Despite its clinical benefits, chronic total occlusion(CTO) percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) is associated with higher complication rates, which affects the prognosis of patients. It is particularly important to identity the potential complications, minimize the risk of complications and allow prompt treatment should they occur. This paper reviews the relevant studies on the risk assessment of complications of CTO-PCI and outlines strategies to avoid complications, for identifying the adverse prognostic indicators timely and accurately. -
